Sites Within The Historic District

Fairmount Park is the largest municipal park in the world. It is significant in American history in the areas of architecture, conservation, sculpture and urban planning.

The National Register of Historic Places lists the following inventory of cultural resources situated within the boundaries of the historic district which contribute to its significance:

Arnest [no longer extant], Belmont Mansion, Boat House Row, Boelsen Cottage, Catholic Total Abstinence Fount, Cedar Grove, Chamounix House, Civil War Memorial Gate, Cliff House [no longer extant], Fairmount Water Works, Garfield Memorial, General Grant Statute, Grant's Cabin, Greenland, Hatfield, Japanese House, Lansdowne, Laurel Hill, Lemon Hill, Letitia Street House, The Lilacs, Lincoln Monument, Livezey House, Medicine Man, Memorial Hall, The Monastery, Tom Moor Cottage, Mount Pleasant, Ohio House, Ormiston, Ridgeland, Rittenhouse Town, Rockland, Sedgley, Solitude, Strawberry Mansion, Sweetbriar, Thomas House, Thomas Mill Covered Bridge, Valley Green Inn, Woodford, and Zoological Gardens.
