1876: The Centennial And Laurel Hill Sunday, July 9, 2006 2:00 PM $15 During the Centennial year of 1876, Philadelphia was host to a celebration of 100 years of American progress. The Exhibition introduced the nation as a new world power, and showcased the city as a center of American industry and culture.
